Best value: centered Terrace sideline · best view: 100-level sideline

Courtside, a 100-level lower bowl, a 200-level ring and a Terrace whose sections start with T: how the Atlanta arena's map fits together.

The State Farm Arena map in brief

The State Farm Arena seating chart has four public seating tiers. Courtside and floor seats ring the court. The 100 level is the lower bowl, reached from the main concourse. The 200 level is a smaller ring above it, and the Terrace is the top level, with suite levels set between the tiers. The arena itself names the 100, 200 and Terrace levels, and two seating guides agree that Terrace sections carry a T prefix (T9, T18 and so on) rather than 300-series numbers. Some resale maps still relabel the Terrace as a "300 level," so read the section name, not the color, on your listing.

For a Hawks game, the best all-around seats are 100-level sideline sections at least a dozen rows up. The best value is a Terrace section centered on the sideline, where the full court is in view and the renovated video boards are easy to follow.

Courtside and the 100 level

Courtside seats sit on the floor along the sidelines and baselines, and the 2018 renovation added courtside clubs and cabanas, including the Sharecare Social Cabana the arena lists among its premium products. Behind them, the 100 level wraps the court.

Rows are lettered, with the early letters closest to the floor; a seat-photo archive shows the deeper 100-level sections running into double letters. That depth matters:

  • First few rows on the sideline: close to the players, but the benches, scorer's table and courtside row sit at eye level.
  • Middle rows on the sideline: the best basketball view in the building, high enough to see plays develop at both ends.
  • Low rows behind the baskets: close to the rim at one end, but the stanchion and the backboard frame the far end of the court.
  • Corners: a good compromise, angled toward the court with a clear view of both baskets.

The 200 level and the rebuilt suite side

The arena's original design stacked about 90 suites in a tall wall along one long side, which pushed regular seats on that side far from the court. The 2017–2018 renovation removed most of that wall and replaced it with two levels of suites (about 40 in all), new upper-level seating and social spaces. The result is a more balanced bowl, and seats on the rebuilt side are no longer a long step back from the action.

Seating guides describe the 200 level as a club and mezzanine ring with wider, cushioned seats and food and drink service. Seat-photo archives show it as a shorter tier than the 100 level, so even its back rows stay reasonably close to the court. Around it, the arena's premium inventory includes the Delta SKY360 Club, the Harrah's Cherokee Casinos Club, the Players Club, Topgolf Swing Suites, Veranda Suites and the Georgia Natural Gas Greener Life Lofts. Names and access rules change with sponsorships, so check what a listing includes.

The Terrace: the upper level and its clubs

The Terrace is the arena's top seating level. Because sections are labeled with a T, a ticket in "T20" is an upper-level seat, not a table or a suite. A seating guide places the Concert Club and an all-inclusive social club among the Terrace sections, so some Terrace listings include food and drink and others do not; check what a listing includes.

  • Centered Terrace sideline: the best upper-level choice, with the whole court in front of you.
  • Terrace corners and ends: the farthest seats from the court; the center-hung video board, about five times larger than the board it replaced, carries much of the viewing.
  • Front rows of the Terrace: noticeably closer to the court than the back rows of the same section.

Basketball, end-stage and center-stage layouts

The arena seats 17,608 for basketball and roughly 18,000 to 21,000 for concerts, depending on where the stage goes.

End-stage concerts

Most tours put the stage at one end. Seats behind the stage are closed or sold as limited view, and the floor fills with general admission or numbered floor sections. Side sections in the 100 level that are angled toward the stage, close to the stage end, often see more than the back half of a flat floor. A seating guide describes the Concert Club as facing the stage straight on for concerts.

Center-stage and in-the-round shows

A center stage opens the full bowl, which is where the higher concert capacities come from. In that setup, every sideline and end is a front, and the 100 level all the way around becomes the best tier.

WWE, UFC and boxing

With a ring or cage in the middle of the floor, the arena behaves like a center-stage show: lower-bowl seats close to the floor are the strongest value, and rows far back on the flat floor can see less than the first 100-level rows.

Sections to think twice about

  • Side sections level with or behind an end stage: buy only if the listing is clear about the view.
  • The first rows behind a basket: great for one end of the court, poor for the other.
  • Terrace corners high up: the court looks small, and you will watch the screen more than the game.
  • Listings that do not name the level: confirm whether a "300" section is the Terrace and whether club access is included.
