Katt Williams in brief

Katt Williams is an American stand-up comedian and actor, born Micah Williams in Cincinnati in 1971 and raised in Dayton, Ohio, and a ticket to see him buys a full-length headline stand-up set built on fast, profane storytelling and social commentary. He plays theaters, arenas and casino venues on named tours, usually as the single headliner of the night with support comics opening.

He started in comedy clubs in Cincinnati's Avondale neighborhood, worked rooms such as The Improv and The Ice House, and appeared on BET's ComicView. Film and TV made him widely known: Money Mike in Friday After Next (2002), a cast member on the early seasons of Wild 'n Out, Bobby Shaw on My Wife and Kids, and the voice of A Pimp Named Slickback on The Boondocks. In 2018 he won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Atlanta.

His January 2024 appearance on Shannon Sharpe's podcast Club Shay Shay, in which he criticized several fellow entertainers, drew wide attention on social media.

What his stand-up show is like

A Katt Williams show is a long, high-energy monologue. He moves constantly, works in bursts of physical comedy, and mixes observational material with commentary on race, politics, celebrity culture and conspiracy talk. When he announced his Conspiracy Theory Tour in 2015, he described the show as an open discussion of topics he felt were not being addressed anywhere else.

The material is explicit. Expect heavy profanity and adult subject matter throughout, and treat the show as adults-only unless the venue says otherwise. Comedy nights usually include one or more opening comics before the headliner, so the total evening runs longer than his own set.

Specials and tours, dated

His recorded specials give the clearest timeline of his touring career:

  • 2006 to 2010: The Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1 (his first HBO special, 2006), American Hustle (2007), It's Pimpin' Pimpin' (HBO, 2008), Pimpadelic (2009) and 9 Lives (2010). Billboard named his 2008 comedy tour the best of that year.
  • 2012 to 2015: Kattpacalypse (HBO, 2012) after a four-year break from stand-up, the Growth Spurt Tour (late 2013), and Priceless: Afterlife (HBO, directed by Spike Lee, premiered August 16, 2014). The Conspiracy Theory Tour was announced in September 2015.
  • 2018 to 2024: three Netflix specials: Great America (2018, filmed in Jacksonville, Florida), World War III (2022) and Woke Foke, streamed live from Los Angeles on May 4, 2024, as part of the Netflix Is a Joke Festival.
  • 2026: the special The Last Report, and The Golden Age Tour, billed on his official site as a 2026 North American tour of all-new material.

Tour routing changes often for comedians, with dates added in batches. The live event list on this page shows current availability.

Choosing seats for a comedy headliner

Stand-up rewards closeness more than almost any other live event, because the show is one person, a microphone and facial expressions. His venues range from theaters to arenas, so the advice depends on the room.

  • Theaters: the orchestra (the main floor) from about row 5 back to the middle is ideal; you see his face without craning upward. The front of the mezzanine or balcony is a strong alternative and often sounds better than the far rear orchestra under an overhang.
  • Arenas: comedy in an arena is usually staged at one end. Lower-level sections facing the stage are the best seats in the building; floor seats are flat, so rows far back on the floor can be worse than the first rows of the lower bowl. In the upper level you will watch the screens.
  • Casino and outdoor amphitheater stages: center reserved seats beat side sections, and lawn or rear general admission is a screen-and-sound experience.

Avoid seats sold as behind or beside the stage for comedy. A band can turn around to face side sections; a comedian mostly faces forward.

How Katt Williams tickets sell

Comedy tours usually sell in waves rather than all at once. A few patterns apply to his dates:

  • Second shows get added. Comedians sometimes add a late show on the same night when the first sells well, which can open up better seats.
  • Weekend nights in large markets tend to go first, along with the front orchestra or lower-bowl center sections.
  • Presales (venue, promoter and card-member presales ahead of the general sale) take many of the best seats early, so resale is often where fans find front sections close to the date.
  • Phone policies vary. Some comedy shows require phones to be locked in pouches during the set; check your event listing and the venue's rules.

Every GoodSeats order comes with guaranteed entry. Announcements from the comedian appear on his official site.
