What Los Angeles has on, and where
Los Angeles has major-league sports in every season, more large concert venues than almost any American city, and the country's best-known stand-up clubs. The catch is geography: the venues are spread across Downtown, Inglewood, Hollywood, Pasadena and Anaheim, so the first question for any ticket is which part of the region it sends you to.
- Inglewood holds SoFi Stadium, the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome within walking distance of one another.
- Downtown has Crypto.com Arena at L.A. Live, with Dodger Stadium a few miles north in Elysian Park.
- Hollywood and the Sunset Strip hold the Hollywood Bowl, the Hollywood Palladium and the major comedy clubs.
- Pasadena and Anaheim add the Rose Bowl, Angel Stadium and Honda Center.
Los Angeles is also preparing to host the 2028 Summer Olympics, its third Games, which will bring more renovations and event-day changes at several of these venues.
Teams and home venues across the region
- Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers (NFL) share SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, opened in 2020 with a standard capacity of 70,240 under a translucent canopy with open sides. The Rams, founded in Cleveland in 1936, have won two Super Bowls; the Chargers returned to Los Angeles from San Diego in 2017. SoFi is scheduled to host Super Bowl LXI in February 2027.
- Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB) play at Dodger Stadium, opened in 1962 and, at 56,000 seats, the largest ballpark in the majors. The Los Angeles Angels play at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
- Los Angeles Lakers (NBA), Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) share Crypto.com Arena, opened in 1999 as Staples Center.
- Los Angeles Clippers (NBA) moved to Intuit Dome in Inglewood in 2024. Its signature is The Wall, 51 uninterrupted baseline rows reserved for Clippers fans.
- Anaheim Ducks (NHL) play at Honda Center.
- LAFC and Angel City FC play at BMO Stadium; the LA Galaxy play at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.
For a visitor, Lakers games and Dodgers weekend games draw the deepest local demand. Clippers games at Intuit Dome are usually the easier NBA ticket, and The Wall offers the loudest atmosphere for fans who want to stand and cheer.
Concerts in Los Angeles: arenas, stadiums and the open-air bowls
Most searches for concerts in Los Angeles land on one of three building types, and each suits a different kind of night.
Arenas
- Crypto.com Arena holds about 20,000 for concerts and has hosted the Grammy Awards more than any other venue.
- Kia Forum, the round 1967 arena once known as the Fabulous Forum, holds about 17,500 for concerts and was renovated specifically for music in 2014.
- Intuit Dome, 18,300 capacity, opened in 2024 with Bruno Mars shows and now books tours across genres.
Stadiums
SoFi Stadium and the Rose Bowl take the largest tours. SoFi's translucent canopy covers the seats while its open sides let ocean breezes through; the Rose Bowl is a single open bowl where the sideline seats facing the stage are the safest choice.
Outdoor amphitheaters and theaters
- Hollywood Bowl, opened in 1922, seats 17,500 and is the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The 2026 season ran June 20 to September 27. The boxes near the stage put you closest; the bench sections climb the hillside behind them, and the center benches give a straight-on view of the shell for less than the boxes usually cost.
- Greek Theatre, dedicated in 1930 in Griffith Park, holds about 5,900 and is run by ASM Global for the city.
- Hollywood Palladium, a 4,000-capacity 1940 ballroom on Sunset Boulevard booked by Live Nation.
Comedy shows in Los Angeles: the Strip, Melrose and Hollywood
Los Angeles has been a center of American stand-up since the Sunset Strip and Melrose clubs opened in the 1970s, and the same rooms still anchor the scene.
- The Comedy Store, 8433 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, opened in April 1972 in the building that once housed Ciro's nightclub. Mitzi Shore ran it from 1973 until her death in 2018. It has three rooms: the 450-seat Main Room, the 99-seat Original Room and the Belly Room.
- Laugh Factory, 8001 Sunset Boulevard, opened by Jamie Masada in 1979, with about 300 seats.
- Hollywood Improv, 8162 Melrose Avenue, opened in 1974 as the second club in the Improv chain that began in New York in 1963.
- The Groundlings, 7307 Melrose Avenue, a 99-seat improv and sketch theater founded in 1974. Will Ferrell, Lisa Kudrow, Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy came through its company.
- Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood, reopened under new management in September 2022.
- Largo at the Coronet on La Cienega Boulevard, which mixes stand-up and music and has been in its current home since 2008.
The Comedy Store and Laugh Factory sit less than a mile apart on Sunset, close enough to compare lineups the same evening. Read each listing for age limits and drink minimums before buying.
The Los Angeles calendar, season by season
- Late March to September: Dodgers and Angels baseball.
- June to September: the Hollywood Bowl season.
- September to January: Rams and Chargers at SoFi, and UCLA football at the Rose Bowl.
- October to April: the Lakers, Clippers, Kings and Ducks.
- New Year's Day: the Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, first played in 1902 and usually held on January 1.
- February 2027: Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium.
- Year-round: arena tours, Sunset Strip comedy and MLS and NWSL soccer in season.
October, when baseball playoffs can overlap with the NFL, NBA and NHL openers, is one of the busiest months for the arenas and stadiums.
Getting to the venues: Metro, shuttles and parking
Traffic is the main planning variable in Los Angeles. Leave far more time than the map suggests, or use the rail and shuttle options below.
- Crypto.com Arena: Metro A and E lines to Pico station, next to L.A. Live, where restaurants and hotels sit across the street from the arena.
- SoFi Stadium, Kia Forum and Intuit Dome: on event days, Metro C or K Line to the LAX/Metro Transit Center and a game-day shuttle to SoFi. SoFi parking is sold in color-coded zones with digital passes, and the Inglewood venues share the same streets, so traffic doubles when two events overlap.
- Dodger Stadium: the Dodger Stadium Express runs free with a game ticket from Union Station, using a dedicated bus lane on Sunset Boulevard. Echo Park and Chinatown are the nearest neighborhoods for food before the game.
- Hollywood Bowl: Metro B Line to Hollywood/Highland and the Bowl shuttle. On-site parking is very limited and stacked, so cars leave only as the cars around them do.
Bag rules vary. As of the 2026 season, Dodger Stadium allows clear bags up to 12 by 12 by 6 inches and the Hollywood Bowl limits bags to about 15 by 15 by 22 inches. Check the venue's current policy before you go, and see LA Metro for event-day service.
Tips for out-of-town visitors
- Base yourself near your main event. A Downtown hotel works for Crypto.com Arena and Dodger Stadium; Hollywood suits the Bowl, the Palladium and the comedy clubs; the Inglewood venues are closer to hotels near LAX.
- Pack a picnic for the Bowl. Outside food is allowed at all Hollywood Bowl events, and many fans arrive early to eat before the show.
- Plan the ride home. Rideshare pickup zones after a stadium event can take a long time to clear; the Metro shuttles and Dodger Stadium Express usually move faster.
- Check which Inglewood venue you are going to. SoFi, the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome are close together but have separate entrances and parking.
Every GoodSeats order includes free shipping and no digital transfer fees.
