Upcoming events at Caesars Superdome
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
What the Superdome is and who plays there
The Caesars Superdome is a 73,208-seat domed stadium in downtown New Orleans and the home of the NFL's New Orleans Saints. It also hosts the Sugar Bowl, the Bayou Classic between Grambling State and Southern, the New Orleans Bowl, the Essence Festival of Culture's evening concerts, and a long list of Super Bowls and Final Fours. Capacity expands to 76,468 for the largest events.
- Saints games: September into early January, with playoffs after that.
- College football: the Bayou Classic on Thanksgiving weekend, the New Orleans Bowl and Sugar Bowl in December and January.
- Concerts and festivals: stadium tours, plus Essence Fest in early July.
Under a fixed roof, weather is not a factor. Noise is: the closed dome traps crowd sound, which is why the building has a reputation as one of the loudest in the league.
Plaza, Loge and Terrace: the seating levels explained
The Caesars Superdome names its levels rather than just numbering them.
- Plaza (100s): the lower bowl, closest to the field.
- Loge Club (200s and 300s): premium club seats along both sidelines across two short levels. The 200s run only a few rows (section 259 has rows 1 to 4) about 35 rows above the field, and the 300s continue directly behind them, starting at row 5.
- Upper level (500s and 600s): the first six rows are Upper Box seats in the 500s, and the Terrace seats in the 600s start at row 7 and climb to the top of the dome.
Seating guides list sections such as 259, 340 and 641 as on the Saints side of the field. Use the seat map on your listing to confirm which sideline a given section faces before you buy.
Best seats for Saints games, bowls and concerts
Football
- Plaza sidelines, middle rows: the classic choice. Rows in the teens and higher clear the bench crowds and still feel close.
- Loge Club: the best football angle, elevated and on the sideline, with club lounge access. It carries the premium price that goes with it.
- 500-level Upper Box: the first rows of the upper deck, often the best value for seeing the whole field.
- 600-level Terrace near midfield: the budget pick. Section 641, for example, has entrances at rows 7 and 22, so the climb is shorter than it looks.
- High Terrace corners and end zones: the weakest seats in the building, far from the field and at a sharp angle.
Bowl games
At the Sugar Bowl and Bayou Classic, each school's fans typically cluster on one side or end. Buying in a section near your team's band or fan block is the surest way to be among your own crowd.
Concerts
For end-stage concerts, the Plaza and Loge sidelines nearest the stage give the best mix of view and distance. Terrace seats at the far end look straight down the dome at a distant stage.
Gameday logistics: gates, garages, rideshare and streetcar
The stadium sits at 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive in the Central Business District, a walk from many downtown and French Quarter hotels. For the 2025 season, gates opened two hours before kickoff, and Champions Square, the outdoor plaza beside the stadium, opened three hours before kickoff for ticketed guests, with no re-entry once you go in that way.
- Parking: the stadium's garages (Garages 1, 2, 5 and 6, plus the Champions Garage) are largely held by season ticket holders, with limited game-day sales of Garage 1A, Lot 3, Lot 3A and the Champions Garage. Parking passes have been mobile only.
- Rideshare: the zone is on Poydras Street between Loyola Avenue and Carondelet Street and is geofenced, so you can request a ride only once inside it.
- Streetcar: the Loyola Avenue line runs from Union Passenger Terminal with a stop at Poydras Street near the stadium and connects to the Canal Street line toward the French Quarter.
- Gates: Loge Club holders use Gates C and G, and Gates B, D and H have escalators to the Terrace level.
Bag policy and entry
As of the 2025 season, the Caesars Superdome enforces the NFL clear-bag policy (bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC, no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches, or a one-gallon clear freezer bag). A small clutch of about 4.5 by 6.5 inches is allowed with one clear bag. Saints tickets are 100% mobile through the team or SeatGeek app, and the stadium is cashless, including parking. Check the venue's current policy before you go on the Saints gameday playbook.
GoodSeats orders include guaranteed entry and free shipping.
Food and the renovated concourses
A renovation that began in January 2020 and was completed ahead of Super Bowl LIX removed the old ramps, opened up atriums and wider concourses, and added club spaces. The practical upshot is better circulation at halftime than the building had for decades. Concessions are cashless, and Loge Club tickets add access to club lounges with their own food and drink.
History: from 1975 to Katrina to Super Bowl LIX
The Louisiana Caesars Superdome opened on August 3, 1975, for about 134 million dollars, with a dome 680 feet across and 253 feet high. It was renamed the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in 2011 and the Caesars Superdome in 2021. The state-created Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District owns it.
In August 2005 the Superdome served as a shelter of last resort during Hurricane Katrina and was badly damaged. It reopened on September 25, 2006, for a Saints game that became a symbol of the city's recovery. The stadium has since hosted Super Bowl XLVII in 2013, remembered for its power outage, the 2020 College Football Playoff championship and Super Bowl LIX in February 2025, its eighth Super Bowl. Its attendance record, 78,133, was set at WrestleMania 34 in 2018.
