Upcoming Super Bowl dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

The NFL championship and where it goes next

The Super Bowl is the NFL's championship game, played between the AFC and NFC champions on the second Sunday in February. The next one, Super Bowl LXI, is scheduled for February 14, 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The league picks each host itself, usually three to five years ahead, so the next several sites are already set.

  • Super Bowl LXI (February 14, 2027): SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA. Awarded December 13, 2023. It is the stadium's second Super Bowl.
  • Super Bowl LXII (February 13, 2028): Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA. Announced by the NFL on October 15, 2024. It is Atlanta's fourth Super Bowl and the building's second, after Super Bowl LIII in 2019.
  • Super Bowl LXIII (February 11, 2029): Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas area. Announced by the NFL on March 30, 2026, five years after the venue hosted Super Bowl LVIII.
  • Super Bowl LXIV (February 2030): Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN. Approved by NFL owners on May 19, 2026, and the first Super Bowl in Tennessee.

The most recent game, Super Bowl LX, was played February 8, 2026 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29–13 in front of 70,823 fans. Hosts beyond 2030 had not been named as of October 2026.

How Super Bowl tickets actually reach fans

The Super Bowl does not work like a regular-season game, where a team puts single-game seats on sale to the public. The league's own Super Bowl page sends fans to two places: On Location, the NFL's hospitality company, which sells ticket packages bundled with pregame hospitality, and the NFL Ticket Exchange on Ticketmaster, a resale marketplace. For most fans, buying a seat means buying either a package or a resale ticket.

Resale demand follows a predictable arc:

  • Before the matchup is known: demand reflects the host city and the stadium's size. Listings exist, but buyers are betting on the game rather than on a team.
  • After the conference championships: the two teams are set roughly two weeks before kickoff, and demand moves sharply with how far each fan base must travel and how hungry it is for a title.
  • Game week: prices can move in either direction as travelers lock in plans or drop out. Waiting is a gamble, not a strategy.

By location, lower-level sideline seats between the 20-yard lines carry the highest demand, followed by club seats, then lower-level corners and end zones. Upper-deck end zone seats are the most accessible way in. Every GoodSeats order is backed by a 100% guarantee.

Picking seats in a Super Bowl stadium

Because the stadium changes every year, the best seat depends on the building. A few principles hold everywhere:

  • Sideline height beats end zone proximity. A seat in the middle rows of the lower sideline shows the whole field and the formations. Low rows in the end zone look close on a map but flatten the field, and the action at the far end is hard to read.
  • The upper sideline is often the better value than the lower end zone. You trade closeness for a full view of every play, which matters in a game you may watch only once.
  • Check where the stage goes. The halftime show is staged on the field, and pregame ceremonies use the field and sidelines. Field-level seats can be screened during these moments.

For the announced hosts:

  • SoFi Stadium (2027): the 100 level rings the field, the 200 level is the club tier, and the 300 to 500 levels climb toward a translucent canopy. The field sits well below street level, so expect stairs down to low seats. The double-sided Infinity Screen hangs over the field, so nearly every seat faces a video board.
  • Mercedes-Benz Stadium (2028): three main tiers under a retractable roof. Lower-level sideline sections run about 35 rows deep, and club seats carry a C suffix in the section number.
  • Allegiant Stadium (2029): a 100-level lower bowl, a short 200 suite and loge level, and 300 and 400 upper tiers under a fixed translucent roof.

All three are covered, so weather is not a factor for the next three games.

What Super Bowl week involves

The game is the end of a week of events in the host region. For Super Bowl LX, the Super Bowl Experience fan event ran at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, and the Pro Bowl Games were held there on the Tuesday before the game. A game ticket does not automatically cover these events, so check each one's admission terms separately.

On game day, plan for a long day:

  • Security: expect a wide perimeter, early road closures and screening lines well before the gates. Arrive hours early, not minutes.
  • Bags: NFL stadiums, including SoFi Stadium, have enforced a clear-bag policy in recent seasons (bags must be transparent plastic, vinyl or PVC, about 12 by 6 by 12 inches). Check the policy published for the specific game before you go.
  • Tickets: if your ticket is digital, load it into your phone's wallet before you leave the hotel, because cell service near a full stadium is unreliable.
  • Lodging: hotels near the host stadium fill early for game weekend. Staying farther out and using transit or a pre-booked ride is often easier.

Pregame, halftime and the traditions

The Super Bowl is staged as an event as much as a game. Pregame includes the national anthem and on-field ceremonies, and the halftime show is a production in its own right. Early halftime shows featured college and high school marching bands; the league moved to contemporary pop acts and returned to them at Super Bowl XLV. Super Bowl LX's show was headlined by Bad Bunny, with Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin as guests.

The winner receives the Vince Lombardi Trophy, named for the Green Bay Packers coach who won the first two Super Bowls. Games are numbered with Roman numerals, which is why the 2027 game is LXI. There is no dress code; most fans wear team colors, and because neither team is at home, the crowd is split between two traveling fan bases and neutral spectators, which makes the atmosphere different from a home playoff game.

From the AFL–NFL title game to February Sundays

The first game was played January 15, 1967, as the AFL–NFL World Championship Game. Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt coined the name Super Bowl during the merger talks, and it became official with the third game. The trophy was renamed for Vince Lombardi after his death in 1970 and first awarded under that name after Super Bowl V.

  • Timing: the game moved into February in 2004 and has been played on the second Sunday in February since 2022.
  • Host selection: since 2018 the league has chosen hosts directly rather than through competitive bids. Requirements include a stadium of at least 70,000 seats in an NFL market and 35,000 parking spaces within a mile.
  • Most titles: the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots share the record with six championships each.

Frequently asked questions

When and where is the next Super Bowl?

Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for Sunday, February 14, 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Where are the 2028, 2029 and 2030 Super Bowls?

The NFL has announced Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for February 13, 2028, Allegiant Stadium in the Las Vegas area for February 11, 2029, and Nissan Stadium in Nashville for February 2030.

Can you buy Super Bowl tickets at face value?

There is no general public on-sale like a regular-season game. The NFL's site points fans to On Location hospitality packages and to resale on the NFL Ticket Exchange, so most fans buy a package or a resale ticket.
