The Braves' home in Cobb County
Truist Park is the open-air ballpark where the Atlanta Braves have played since 2017. It seats 41,108 and sits in Cumberland, an unincorporated part of Cobb County about 10 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, at 755 Battery Avenue SE. The address matters: this is a suburban ballpark, not a downtown one, and there is no train station at the gate.
The park opened as SunTrust Park, with the first regular-season game on April 14, 2017, and became Truist Park on January 14, 2020, after SunTrust's merger with BB&T created Truist Financial. It was designed by Populous and wraps into The Battery Atlanta, a mixed-use district of restaurants, bars and businesses that stays open on non-game days. The ballpark alone cost about 622 million dollars; the full project, including The Battery, passed 1.1 billion.
Baseball runs from late March or early April through September, with October games in a playoff year. The park hosted Games 3, 4 and 5 of the 2021 World Series, which the Braves won, and the MLB All-Star Game on July 15, 2025. It also books summer stadium concerts (Billy Joel, Metallica and Lady Gaga have played here) and has staged college football.
Truist Park seating chart: how the levels and sections work
The ballpark is built into a sloped site, so most fans enter at a middle level and walk down to their seats. The seating bowl is unusually vertical: the upper decks are cantilevered toward the field, and the team reports that the farthest upper-deck seat is 21 feet closer to the action than the equivalent seat at Turner Field, the Braves' previous home. Seating guides describe four main levels:
- 100 level (Field): the lower bowl, wrapping from the left-field corner around home plate to right field. Infield sections carry low numbers (the dugout sections are in the teens, 20s and 30s), while outfield sections run into the 140s and 150s.
- 200 level (Terrace): the middle deck, including club seating between the bases.
- 300 level (Vista): the upper deck. Its infield sections offer a full view of the field at a lower price than the levels below.
- 400 level (Grandstand): the highest seats, most of them under the canopy.
Two independent seating guides place the Braves' dugout on the first-base side; one of them lists Sections 16 to 21 behind the home dugout and Sections 31 to 35 behind the visitors' dugout on the third-base side. The same guide puts the visitors' bullpen near Sections 144 and 145 and the Braves' bullpen near 152 and 153. Specialty areas include the Chop House, a multilevel restaurant and seating area in right field, a rooftop club in right field, and Coca-Cola Corner on the Vista level in left field.
The gate names double as a map: the First Base Gate sits at Section 120, the Third Base Gate at Section 131, the Right Field Gate at Section 111, the Left Field Gate at Section 141, and the Chop House Gate near Section 160. Use the gate closest to your section to avoid a long concourse walk.
Best seats, shade and seats to skip
Atlanta summers are hot, and shade decides more ticket choices here than at most parks. A 90-foot-wide canopy horseshoes around the top of the stadium and covers about 60 percent of the seats. Seating guides agree on the basic rule: the first-base side falls into shade earlier than the third-base side, and in the lower bowl, rows 10 and higher usually sit under the overhang of the deck above. On the 200 and 300 levels, you generally need rows near the top to be covered.
Best overall
Lower-bowl seats between the dugouts give the classic view, and the first-base side adds the home dugout and earlier shade. For value, seating guides point to the infield Terrace sections around 216 to 218 and the infield Vista sections around 325 to 327, where you see the whole field and stay closer than the same seats would be at an older park.
For families and groups
The outfield and the right-field social spaces suit groups who plan to move around. The Chop House and the right-field rooftop are built for standing and mingling more than for following every pitch.
Seats to think twice about
- Coca-Cola Corner: far from home plate in left field and, per seating guides, with no shade for day games.
- Far right-field corner seats: some lose part of the field behind the Chop House structure.
- Low third-base rows for a summer day game: full sun for most of the afternoon.
Protective netting runs 145 feet down the third-base line and 149 feet down the first-base line, so the first rows behind the dugouts look through netting. Demand peaks for weekend series, fireworks and giveaway nights, and division rivals; midweek games in April and September are usually the easiest dates to buy.
Truist Park parking, shuttles and rideshare
Most fans drive. The team owns or leases more than 11,000 spaces around the ballpark, and about 30,000 spaces sit within 2 miles. As of the 2026 season, Braves parking is managed by LAZ Parking, the team sells passes in advance at braves.com/parking, and day-of parking on site is credit card only. Lots and decks are named by color (Red, Orange, Green, Purple and Silver, plus the Delta Deck), and several have electric-vehicle chargers. There is no re-entry to the lots.
Buying a pass ahead of time is the single best move for a weekend game. Traffic in Cumberland builds well before first pitch, and a closer deck shortens the walk out more than it shortens the drive in.
- MARTA: take Bus 12 from Midtown Station to the Cumberland Transfer Center, then the free Cumberland Circulator shuttle to The Battery and the ballpark.
- CobbLinc: Route 10 runs from the MARTA Arts Center station and Marietta. It does not run on Sundays.
- Accessible shuttles: run from Lot N29 starting 2.5 hours before first pitch and ending an hour after the game.
Check the Braves ballpark guide for current routes and parking details before you go.
Truist Park bag policy and entry rules (2026)
Truist Park has one of the stricter bag rules in baseball. As of the 2026 season, bags are not permitted. The exceptions are medical bags no larger than needed for the equipment, breast-pump and diaper bags, bags required under the ADA, and small single-compartment clutches or clear bags no larger than 5 by 9 inches. A paid mobile locker service operates near the Orange and Truist Tower decks. Check the venue's current policy before you go, since rules can change between seasons and for concerts.
- Outside food: allowed in a clear, gallon-size bag, plus one sealed plastic water bottle per ticket.
- Gates: open two hours before first pitch, or 80 minutes before weekday day games; giveaway dates may open earlier.
- Payment: the ballpark is cashless; cash-to-card stations sit on the lower concourse near Sections 118 and 133.
- Re-entry: not allowed on the same ticket except in an emergency approved by a supervisor.

Food, the Monument Garden and The Battery
The Monument Garden, on the main concourse behind home plate, is the ballpark's history hall. Its centerpiece is a statue of Hank Aaron capturing his 715th home run on April 8, 1974, set in front of a sculpture made of 755 bats, one for each of his career home runs. Statues of Bobby Cox, Warren Spahn and Phil Niekro stand around the park. Beyond center field, three evergreen trees, boulders and a waterfall form the batter's eye, and a fountain fires after Braves home runs and wins.
The Battery Atlanta is the reason to arrive early. Its restaurants and bars open before the gates do, and they give you somewhere to wait out traffic after the final out.
How Truist Park came to Cobb County
The plan to leave Turner Field became public in late 2013, only two weeks before the Cobb County Commission's first vote, and the county approved the operating agreement and financing in May 2014 over organized opposition. Ground was broken on September 16, 2014, the certificate of occupancy came on February 24, 2017, and the Braves beat the San Diego Padres 5 to 2 in the first regular-season game. Four years later the park hosted its first World Series, and in 2025 it hosted its first All-Star Game.
