Nashville

Year-round: NFL, NHL, MLS, the Opry, Ryman shows and arena tours

Music City in practice: where the Opry, the Ryman, the arena tours, the comedy clubs and the Titans and Predators play, and how to get to each one.

Upcoming events in Nashville

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

What Nashville's live-event calendar covers

Nashville runs live events year-round: NFL football with the Tennessee Titans, NHL hockey with the Nashville Predators, MLS soccer with Nashville SC, Triple-A baseball with the Nashville Sounds, and a concert scene that few cities its size can match. Most of the big rooms sit within walking distance of Lower Broadway, the honky-tonk strip that runs from the Cumberland River up to Fifth Avenue.

The city's identity is music, and the ticket market reflects it. On a single weekend you can choose among an arena tour at Bridgestone Arena, the Grand Ole Opry, a seated show in the pews at the Ryman Auditorium, a songwriter round at the Bluebird Cafe and a stand-up headliner at Zanies. Sports and music share the same downtown footprint, so a Predators game and a Ryman show on the same night can mean crowded sidewalks and full garages.

  • Teams: Titans (NFL), Predators (NHL), Nashville SC (MLS), Sounds (Triple-A, Milwaukee Brewers affiliate).
  • Arena and stadium concerts: Bridgestone Arena, Nissan Stadium, Geodis Park.
  • Theaters and halls: Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry House, TPAC, Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
  • Comedy: Zanies, The Lab at Zanies, Third Coast Comedy Club.

Concerts in Nashville: from the Ryman pews to the riverfront lawn

Searching for concerts in Nashville, or concerts tonight, usually turns up a dozen options. The useful question is which room fits the show, because each of the main venues sits a different way.

Ryman Auditorium

Built in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle, the Ryman seats 2,362 on wooden pews and was home to the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. Sound and intimacy are the draw. The trade-offs are real: pews offer little legroom, and the posts that hold up the balcony block part of the stage from some main-floor seats. Center balcony is often the smartest buy for a seated show, since it clears the posts and still feels close. Standing is allowed at some shows only if the artist permits it.

Grand Ole Opry House

The Opry moved to its own 4,000-seat house on March 16, 1974, about nine miles east of downtown next to Briley Parkway. The Opry plays there several times a week, then shifts to the Ryman for an annual winter run, so check which building your date is in. Opry nights are variety shows with several acts per night rather than a single headliner, which makes the lineup the main driver of demand.

Bridgestone Arena

The downtown arena at 501 Broadway hosts the big pop, country and rock tours and the CMA Awards, which it has hosted annually since 2006. For an end-stage concert, the 100-level sections along the sides near the stage give a better angle than the floor rows behind the soundboard, and the 300 level directly facing the stage gives a full view of the production.

Ascend Amphitheater and the stadiums

Ascend Amphitheater opened on July 30, 2015, in Metro Riverfront Park, with about 2,300 fixed seats and room for roughly 4,500 on the lawn. The lawn is general admission, so arrive early for a spot with a clear look at the stage. Stadium tours play Nissan Stadium, and the CMA Music Festival takes over downtown each June.

Small rooms

The Bluebird Cafe in Green Hills holds about 90 people and made its name with the In the Round format, in which four songwriters sit in the center and trade songs. Seats are scarce and go quickly, so plan well ahead. The Schermerhorn Symphony Center (1,844 seats in Laura Turner Concert Hall) is the home of the Nashville Symphony.

Comedy shows in Nashville: the clubs and the larger stages

Nashville's comedy scene is smaller than its music scene but steady, with one long-running club, an improv theater and plenty of touring headliners booked into the big theaters.

  • Zanies Nashville (2025 8th Avenue South) is the city's main stand-up club, open seven nights a week and booking touring headliners for more than 40 years. Shows are 18 and up, and a valid photo ID is required to claim seats.
  • The Lab at Zanies is a 100-seat room next door that opened in spring 2024, used for weekly series and newer comics. It is a good choice for a cheaper, looser night out.
  • Third Coast Comedy Club stages improv, stand-up, sketch and musical improv. The theater has been relocating to a larger space at 1307 Dickerson Pike in East Nashville, with an opening planned for early September 2026, so confirm the address on your ticket.
  • Big-name stand-up often plays the Ryman, TPAC or Bridgestone Arena, where the seating advice above applies.

At a club, the front tables put you in range of crowd work, and the seats at the side of the stage can mean watching a comic in profile. A table a few rows back and on center usually gives the best mix of view and comfort.

Teams and venues: who plays where

  • Tennessee Titans (NFL): Nissan Stadium, on the east bank of the Cumberland River across from downtown, opened in 1999 and lists capacity at 69,143. The 2026 season is scheduled to be the Titans' last in the current building. A new enclosed stadium of about 60,000 seats is under construction next door and is planned to open in 2027.
  • Nashville Predators (NHL): Bridgestone Arena, which seats 17,159 for hockey and has housed the team since 1998. The arena sits at an angle at Broadway and Fifth as a nod to the Ryman.
  • Nashville SC (MLS): Geodis Park, opened in 2022 on the former fairgrounds site south of downtown, with 30,000 seats. It is widely described as the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States.
  • Nashville Sounds (Triple-A): First Horizon Park, opened in 2015 north of the State Capitol, with 8,500 fixed seats and a guitar-shaped scoreboard.
  • College football: the Music City Bowl is played at Nissan Stadium in late December, with Big Ten and SEC tie-ins in recent seasons.
  • Broadway and the arts: TPAC (Andrew Jackson Hall seats 2,472) presents the touring Broadway series and is home to the Nashville Ballet, Nashville Opera and Nashville Repertory Theatre.

Nashville's season calendar, month by month

  • January to April: Predators hockey at Bridgestone Arena, the Opry's winter run at the Ryman (held in January in recent years), and the start of the Sounds season in spring.
  • March to October: Nashville SC at Geodis Park and Sounds baseball. Ascend Amphitheater's outdoor season runs through the warm months.
  • June: CMA Music Festival, the biggest week of the year for hotel demand downtown. Book rooms early or stay outside the core.
  • September to January: Titans football, with the NHL season opening in October.
  • Fall: the CMA Awards, held at Bridgestone Arena every year since 2006.
  • Late December: the Music City Bowl and a run of holiday shows at the Ryman and TPAC.

Ticket demand rises on Fridays and Saturdays, when bachelorette groups and weekend visitors fill downtown, and on any night when two big events overlap. Midweek shows are often the easier buy.

Getting around to the venues

Downtown Nashville is compact. Bridgestone Arena, the Ryman, Ascend Amphitheater, the Schermerhorn and TPAC are all within a short walk of one another, so it is worth staying downtown and leaving the car parked.

  • Nissan Stadium: walk across the river from downtown. The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and the Woodland Street bridge are the usual routes, and rideshare pickup zones are set up on event days. On-site parking for Titans games sells out in advance.
  • Bus: WeGo Public Transit runs from WeGo Central, its downtown hub, and Route 18 runs to Nashville International Airport.
  • Grand Ole Opry House: nine miles east of downtown, so plan on a car, rideshare or shuttle.
  • Geodis Park and the Bluebird Cafe: both sit south of downtown, outside walking range from Broadway.

Garages near Broadway fill early on big nights. As of the 2026 season, Bridgestone Arena does not allow backpacks of any size and limits bags to 12 by 12 by 6 inches; check the arena's current bag policy before you go.

Neighborhood notes and tips for out-of-town visitors

  • Lower Broadway and SoBro: the closest base for Bridgestone Arena, the Ryman and Ascend, with honky-tonks, hotels and restaurants on every block. It is loud late into the night, so a room a few blocks off Broadway sleeps better.
  • East Bank and East Nashville: closest to Nissan Stadium. East Nashville has a quieter restaurant and bar scene and is where Third Coast Comedy Club is relocating.
  • 8th Avenue South and the Gulch: handy for Zanies and a short ride to downtown.
  • Music Valley and Opryland: the hotel cluster around the Opry House, best if the Opry is the main reason for the trip.

Book Bluebird and Opry tickets before the trip, since both are small or popular enough to sell out. For anything at the Ryman, pick seats with the balcony posts in mind. Every order on GoodSeats is backed by a 100% guarantee. For Opry dates and times, use the Ryman's official site to confirm which building a show is in.

Frequently asked questions

What pro sports teams play in Nashville?

The Tennessee Titans (NFL) play at Nissan Stadium, the Nashville Predators (NHL) at Bridgestone Arena, Nashville SC (MLS) at Geodis Park and the Triple-A Nashville Sounds at First Horizon Park.

Where are the main comedy clubs in Nashville?

Zanies Nashville at 2025 8th Avenue South is the main stand-up club, with The Lab at Zanies next door. Third Coast Comedy Club, an improv and sketch theater, has been moving to 1307 Dickerson Pike in East Nashville.

Is the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman or the Opry House?

Both, depending on the date. The Opry plays the Grand Ole Opry House east of downtown most of the year and moves to the Ryman Auditorium for an annual winter run, so check the venue on your ticket.

Are there bad seats at the Ryman Auditorium?

Some main-floor seats sit behind the posts that support the balcony and have a partly blocked view. The pews also have little legroom, so center balcony is often the better choice.

The new enclosed Nissan Stadium is under construction next to the current one and is planned to open in 2027. The 2026 season is scheduled to be the last in the current stadium.

Can I walk to Nissan Stadium from downtown?
