Upcoming AJR dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Who AJR is and what kind of show you are buying
AJR is the indie-pop band of brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met, who formed the group in New York City in 2005 and started out street performing in the city's parks. A ticket buys a tightly staged, theatrical pop show with comedy segments, synchronized lighting and a designed finale, and since 2024 the band has played arenas. Because so much of the show is visual, seats that face the whole stage are often worth more than seats that are merely close.
The brothers write, produce and mix their own music, much of it from a living room studio. Their studio albums are Living Room (2015), The Click (2017), Neotheater (2019), OK Orchestra (2021) and The Maybe Man (2023). The band's first top-ten single debuted at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Weak" reached the top 30 in more than 25 countries. AJR holds eight platinum singles, including "World's Smallest Violin."
Inside an AJR concert
AJR treats a concert as a produced show rather than a run of songs. The brothers design the comedic segments and the finale themselves, and lighting and sound design carry much of the night. Expect staged visual moments timed to the music and comic interludes between songs.
The front of the floor is the loudest and most participatory part of the room, while reserved seats give the better view of the lighting and staging the band builds the show around. Buyers bringing children often choose reserved seats over a standing floor for the same reason.
AJR's tours, from amphitheaters to arenas
The tours below are documented in the sources for this page. Current dates appear in the live event list on this page.
- Neotheater World Tour (2019 to 2020): included a sold-out show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on October 5, 2019. The second leg was postponed and later canceled because of COVID-19.
- OK Orchestra Tour (2021 to 2022): supported the 2021 album of the same name.
- The Maybe Man Tour (2024): announced November 8, 2023, as the band's first arena tour.
- Somewhere in the Sky Tour (2025): featured guests including Cavetown and Quinn XCII. A Hollywood Bowl show from this tour became the album Live at the Hollywood Bowl, released March 27, 2026.
- The Northwest Tour (spring 2026): a smaller run of markets including Idaho Falls, Colorado Springs, Bend and Nampa.
The pattern is a band that moved from headline dates at amphitheaters such as Red Rocks to its first arena tour within five years, while still playing smaller regional markets between major tours.
Where to sit for an AJR show
AJR's recent tours have played arenas and large outdoor venues. Check the seating map on each event for the stage layout before buying.
Arenas
- Floor: the most energetic place in the room. A general-admission floor (standing, first come, first served) rewards an early arrival; toward the back, the flat floor hides much of the staging behind the crowd.
- Lower bowl facing the stage: often the best seat for this band. The lighting and visual cues read as intended from straight on, and the sound mix is strongest near the soundboard.
- Lower-bowl sidelines near the stage: close and raised, but the angle can cut off part of the stage picture and some lighting effects.
- Upper level: the value tier, and still useful for a show built on light. Front rows at center beat corners.
Amphitheaters and bowls
At venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre or the Hollywood Bowl, the center sections give the full view of the production. Upper rows are a reasonable value since the lighting carries well in the dark, but plan to arrive early because entry lines at large outdoor venues can be long.
How demand for AJR tickets behaves
AJR built its following online and through radio hits, and its dates tend to draw strong early demand. A few structural patterns help:
- Presales carry the early inventory. Fan-list and venue presales typically open before the general on-sale, and the front of the floor goes there first.
- Home markets run hot. New York-area shows carry hometown weight, since the band formed in New York City.
- Weekend dates sell first. Friday and Saturday shows usually move before midweek shows in the same region.
- Recorded or special shows draw more. Showcase dates at landmark venues tend to carry extra demand compared with regular tour stops.
Resale prices can sit above or below face value and usually move as the show approaches. GoodSeats orders include guaranteed entry. For announcements from the band, see AJR's official tour page.
