Brooks & Dunn in brief
Brooks & Dunn is the country duo of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, the most-awarded act in Country Music Association history and members of the Country Music Hall of Fame since 2019. A Brooks & Dunn ticket usually means an arena or amphitheater show packed with 1990s and 2000s radio hits, often with a younger country act opening.
Brooks was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1955, and Dunn in Coleman, Texas, in 1953. Both had charted as solo artists before Arista Nashville executive Tim DuBois suggested they team up in 1988. Their debut album, Brand New Man, came out in 1991, and its first four singles ("Brand New Man," "My Next Broken Heart," "Neon Moon" and "Boot Scootin' Boogie") all reached No. 1, the first time a duo or group had done that in country music. They went on to 20 No. 1 hits on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. "My Maria" and "Ain't Nothing 'bout You" were the top country songs of 1996 and 2001.
They won the 1996 Entertainer of the Year award from both the CMA and the Academy of Country Music, 16 CMA Vocal Duo of the Year awards, and two Grammys. Wikipedia counts their CMA total as 20 in one passage and 21 in another; either way it is the record. Their 30 ACM awards trail only Miranda Lambert.
What the concert is like
The show runs on contrast: two different voices and two different stage personalities trading the spotlight, over a band that mixes honky-tonk with rock. Expect the crowd on its feet for "Boot Scootin' Boogie," the 1992 single credited with reviving line dancing in the United States, and a big singalong for "Neon Moon."
Their catalog has also found a younger audience. Reboot (April 5, 2019) re-recorded their hits with artists such as Luke Combs and Kane Brown, and Reboot II (November 15, 2024) added Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Megan Moroney, Halestorm and Marcus King. Guest appearances vary by night and should not be assumed from a listing.

Picking seats at an arena, amphitheater or rodeo
Brooks & Dunn play several kinds of rooms, and the best seat changes with each one.
- Arenas: lower-level sections angled toward the stage give the best mix of view and sound. Floor seats in the first 15 rows are the closest, but the floor is flat, so a seat far back on the floor can see less than the lower bowl.
- Amphitheaters: the covered pavilion (reserved seats) is the place to see both men clearly. The lawn (general-admission grass behind the pavilion) is the relaxed, budget way in, and it suits a crowd that likes to dance, but you will watch the screens more than the stage.
- Rodeos and fairs: the stage often sits on an arena floor or infield built for livestock events, so reserved seats can be farther from the performers than at a standard concert. Check whether your ticket includes grounds admission.
- Avoid: side sections behind the stage line and seats marked obstructed view unless the listing explains them.
How demand for their tickets behaves
The duo's audience spans fans who bought Brand New Man in 1991 and younger listeners who found them through the Reboot albums, which widens demand beyond a typical legacy act.
- Weekend amphitheater dates: Friday and Saturday summer shows sell first, and the lawn often goes last.
- Presales: fan-club, venue and card-issuer presales usually come before the general on-sale and take much of the closest inventory.
- Resale: the closest floor and pavilion seats hold their value, while upper-level and lawn tickets often ease as show day approaches.
