Luke Combs, from Asheville to stadium headliner
Luke Combs is a country singer and songwriter who headlines NFL and college football stadiums, typically for a single show per city with two or three opening acts on the bill. He was born on March 2, 1990, in Huntersville, North Carolina, and grew up in Asheville in Western North Carolina. He records for Columbia Nashville and River House Artists.
His rise was unusually fast. He became the first artist to reach number one on the Billboard country chart with each of his first five singles, and his debut album, This One's for You (2017), was followed by What You See Is What You Get (2019), Growin' Up (2022), Gettin' Old (2023), Fathers & Sons (2024) and The Way I Am (2026). The Country Music Association named him Entertainer of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
His 2023 cover of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and won Single of the Year at the 2023 CMA Awards. He and Chapman performed it together at the Grammy Awards on February 4, 2024.
What a Luke Combs show is like
A Luke Combs concert is a long country night rather than a staged spectacle. The emphasis is on the songs, the band and a crowd that knows every word; expect much of the stadium to sing along, from the early hits to "Fast Car." Doors open hours before his set, and the openers matter. His tours have carried a rotating bill of established and rising country acts, so a ticket buys several sets.
Because the night is long and the headliner comes on late, plan your arrival around the opener you most want to see, and plan your exit too. Stadium parking lots and transit lines empty slowly after a sold-out country show.
Stadium tours, with dates
These are his recent headlining tours, with dates and venues from the cited tour records:
- What You See Is What You Get Tour (2020 to 2021).
- Luke Combs World Tour (March 25 to October 20, 2023): 43 shows. The North American leg played stadiums, opening at AT&T Stadium in Arlington and including Lucas Oil Stadium, Nissan Stadium, Ford Field, Soldier Field, U.S. Bank Stadium, Arrowhead Stadium, Busch Stadium, Raymond James Stadium, Bank of America Stadium, Gillette Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field. Openers rotated among acts such as Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Turnpike Troubadours and The Avett Brothers.
- Growin' Up and Gettin' Old Tour (April 12 to August 10, 2024): 26 North American shows in venues such as SoFi Stadium, MetLife Stadium, Levi's Stadium and Beaver Stadium. The tour set attendance records at American Family Field and Highmark Stadium, and the Beaver Stadium show was that venue's fastest-selling concert.
- My Kinda Saturday Night Tour (March 21, 2026, to June 2027): announced in October 2025, an all-stadium tour in three legs. The 2026 legs included Allegiant Stadium, Lambeau Field, Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, AT&T Stadium and Wembley Stadium in London, with openers including Dierks Bentley and, in Europe, Thomas Rhett.
As of October 2026, his official site listed a second North American leg for April to June 2027, mostly NFL stadiums on Saturday nights. Current dates appear in the live event list on this page.
Choosing seats for a Luke Combs stadium concert
Stage layouts can change from tour to tour, so check the seating map on your event. For a standard end-stage stadium setup (the stage at one end of the field, with seats behind it closed or sold as limited view):
- Field sections near the stage: the closest you can get, and the loudest. Floors are flat, so from the middle of the field back you will watch a lot of the show on the video screens.
- Lower-bowl sideline sections near the stage end: the best balance. You sit above the field crowd with a clear angle on the stage, and the 100-level seats (the lowest ring of seats around the field) in most NFL stadiums are close enough to see faces.
- Lower-bowl seats opposite the stage: a straight-on view and good sound, but far away. Treat them like upper-level seats with better legroom.
- Upper level, facing the stage: the value choice for a show where the singalong is half the point. Avoid upper-level side sections at the stage end, where the angle hides part of the stage.
For an outdoor stadium, check the weather and whether your seats sit under a roof overhang. A covered seat in a summer storm is worth more than a slightly closer one in the open.
How demand for his tickets works
Luke Combs routinely draws full stadiums, and some cities have extra demand because he plays only one night there. A few patterns hold:
- Presales go first. Artist and fan presales usually run before the general sale, and the best field and lower-bowl seats go during those windows.
- Waitlists signal a sellout. As of October 2026, his official site showed waitlists for several 2027 dates, including Lincoln Financial Field, Gillette Stadium and Petco Park, which means primary inventory was gone.
- Single-night stops are the tightest. When a city gets one show, resale prices tend to hold up closer to the date than they do for multi-night runs.
- The bill affects demand. A popular opener can push interest higher in a given city, so compare lineups when you choose between dates.
