Paramore, from Franklin to the arena circuit
Paramore is a rock band formed in Franklin, Tennessee, in 2004, and an arena act whose tickets move fast whenever the band tours. The current lineup is Hayley Williams on lead vocals, Taylor York on guitar and Zac Farro on drums. Their shows are loud, physical and built around a crowd that knows every word, so the room matters as much as the seat.
The band released its debut album, All We Know Is Falling, in 2005, and broke through with Riot! in 2007. Four more studio albums followed: Brand New Eyes (2009), Paramore (2013), After Laughter (2017) and This Is Why (2023). The sound moved from pop punk (fast, guitar-driven punk with pop hooks) toward new wave and post-punk textures on the later records.
Paramore has won three Grammy Awards: Best Rock Song for "Ain't It Fun" in 2015, and Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Music Performance, for This Is Why and its title track, in 2024. The band recorded for Fueled by Ramen, an Atlantic Records imprint, and became independent in February 2024.
What a Paramore concert feels like
A Paramore show is a band show first. Williams is the focal point, constantly moving across the stage, and the set mixes the early pop-punk songs that fans grew up with and the funk- and post-punk-leaning material from After Laughter and This Is Why. Expect the whole building to sing the older choruses back at the stage.
That energy shapes the floor. General admission floors (standing room with no assigned spots) at Paramore arena shows tend to be dense near the stage, with pushing and jumping during the faster songs. Fans who want to sing along without being jostled usually do better in the lower bowl than on the floor.
The band's recent tours have played mostly arenas, with amphitheaters and festival headline slots mixed in. On the This Is Why Tour in 2023, North American stops included Madison Square Garden in New York and the Kia Forum in Inglewood, alongside festival sets at Bonnaroo, Boston Calling and Hangout Music Festival.
Tours and landmark shows
The major tours below are listed with dates from the cited tour records.
- The Self-Titled Tour (North America, October 15 to November 27, 2013): the run behind the 2013 album Paramore.
- Monumentour (summer 2014): a North American co-headlining run with Fall Out Boy, mostly at amphitheaters, plus festivals and state fairs. The tour's own record lists 43 shows from June 19 to September 12, 2014; the band's main article gives an earlier end date.
- After Laughter Tour (June 15, 2017, to September 7, 2018): 100 shows. Early legs played smaller rooms, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, before later legs moved into arenas such as The O2 in London and Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. It closed with Art + Friends at Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
- This Is Why Tour (March 2 to November 30, 2023): 49 shows across South America, Europe, North America and Oceania, with two nights at The O2 in London. Four dates planned for early 2024 were canceled.
- Taylor Swift's Eras Tour: Paramore opened the first show in Glendale, Arizona, on March 27, 2023, then opened the entire European leg from May 9 to August 20, 2024, playing stadiums to a new generation of listeners.
On September 5, 2025, Williams said the band was taking a break, following the release of her solo album. No new Paramore tour had been announced in the sources reviewed as of October 2026. Any dates that are added will appear in the live event list on this page.
Where to sit for a Paramore arena show
Most Paramore arena dates use an end-stage layout (the stage at one end of the building, with the floor in front of it). Check the seating map on your event, because floor configurations vary by venue and tour. For that layout:
- General admission floor, front half: the closest view of the band and the most intense crowd. Arrive early, plan to stand the whole show, and expect movement during the fast songs.
- General admission floor, back half: flat sightlines with a lot of heads in the way. Many fans would see more from the first rows of the lower bowl.
- Lower bowl, sides near the stage: the sweet spot for most buyers. You look down at the stage at a good angle, keep a reserved seat, and still feel the floor's energy.
- Lower bowl, facing the stage: the full view of the lights and video, at a longer distance than the side sections.
- Upper level: the value choice. Arenas are compact, so front rows upstairs still see the band clearly, and a sing-along sounds big from up there.
Avoid seats marked behind the stage or limited view unless the listing says what you will see. Side sections level with the stage edge can lose the back of the stage behind speaker stacks.
How demand for Paramore tickets behaves
Paramore tours in waves, with breaks between album cycles, so demand builds up while the band is away. When a tour is announced, first-wave tickets usually go through presales: artist or fan-club presales that require signing up in advance, plus card-holder and venue presales. Many fans find the general on-sale has little floor inventory left.
- Big-market and hometown dates draw the most interest. New York, Los Angeles, London and Nashville-area shows tend to be the most contested.
- Floor general admission is the scarcest ticket. It is a small share of an arena, and resale prices for it usually run above comparable lower-bowl seats.
- Prices can ease close to the show. On the resale market, upper-level and side seats often soften in the final days, while floor tickets for sold-out dates may not.
