Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Who Greta Van Fleet is
Greta Van Fleet is an American hard rock band formed in 2012 in Frankenmuth, Michigan. A ticket buys you a guitar-heavy rock concert in the classic-rock tradition, led by singer Josh Kiszka's high, powerful voice and his twin brother Jake Kiszka's blues-based guitar. Their younger brother Sam Kiszka plays bass and keyboards, and drummer Danny Wagner, a friend of the brothers, replaced original drummer Kyle Hauck in 2013.
The band took its name from Gretna Van Fleet, a Frankenmuth resident, with her blessing. Lava Records signed them in March 2017, and the debut single "Highway Tune" topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock and Active Rock charts for four straight weeks that September. The double EP From the Fires (November 2017) won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album, one of four nominations that year, which also included Best New Artist. Their studio albums are Anthem of the Peaceful Army (2018), which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200; The Battle at Garden's Gate (2021); and Starcatcher (2023), produced by Dave Cobb, which debuted at No. 8 and earned a 2024 Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. In July 2026 the band announced a fourth album, Palace for the People, set for release on October 9, 2026.
The sound and the Led Zeppelin question
Nearly every review mentions Led Zeppelin, and the band has not run from it. Jake Kiszka has said he spent a year intensely studying Jimmy Page's playing, and Robert Plant said in March 2018 that "they are Led Zeppelin I." Josh Kiszka has said Plant was an influence but not his goal; his style came out while straining to be heard over the band in rehearsal.
The comparison is a useful shorthand for buyers, but the music has drifted. Critics file the band under hard rock, blues rock and progressive rock, and the members cite a wide spread of influences: Rush, Queen, the Doors and Aerosmith for the group, John Bonham and Mitch Mitchell for Wagner, Motown bassist James Jamerson for Sam Kiszka, and Joe Cocker's stage movements for Josh. Songs often start as folk arrangements before they are built up. If you like 1970s arena rock, long vocal notes and lead guitar that gets room to stretch, this is the show for you.
On stage: what the concert is like
Expect a loud, full-volume rock show where the vocals and the guitar are the main event. The band's stage image owes something to Elton John: after Greta Van Fleet played his Academy Award party on March 4, 2018, at his request, he advised them to get more dramatic and flamboyant in their performance and wardrobe. Their national TV debut followed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in July 2018, and they played Saturday Night Live on January 19, 2019.
The band treats the stage as a place to try new material. At the final three shows of the Dreams in Gold Tour in 2023, they debuted five songs that later appeared on Starcatcher, months before the album came out. Pollstar named Greta Van Fleet Best New Headliner at its 2019 awards, a sign of how quickly they moved from opening slots to their own tours.
Tours by date
The band's touring record, dated from the cited sources:
- Early support slots (2017): a run with The Struts in May 2017 and an opening set for fellow Michigan rocker Bob Seger at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw on September 7, 2017, minutes from their hometown.
- Dreams in Gold Tour (2021 to 2023): an extended global tour behind The Battle at Garden's Gate, ending with a show in Sacramento on March 30, 2023.
- Starcatcher World Tour (from 2023): launched in Nashville on July 24, 2023, three days after the album's release.
- 2024 shows: Mirador, the duo Jake Kiszka formed with Chris Turpin of Ida Mae, opened select Greta Van Fleet dates.
Touring plans around Palace for the People should be confirmed on the band's official site. Any dates currently on sale appear in the event list on this page.
Where to sit for a Greta Van Fleet show
The room changes from tour to tour, so check the seating map on your event. These principles hold for a guitar-driven end-stage rock show (the stage at one end of the room, facing the crowd):
- General-admission floor: the choice for fans who want to stand close to the band and feel the volume. The crowd near the barricade tends to be dense for the whole set, so arrive early if the front matters to you.
- Lower-level sides near the stage: the strongest seated option. You get an angled view of Jake Kiszka's guitar work and Wagner's kit without fighting a standing crowd for sightlines.
- Lower level straight back from the stage: the best spot for sound balance, since you face the speaker arrays head-on. The trade-off is distance.
- Upper level: fine for the music, which is the point of this show, but small for the performers. Center sections beat seats wrapped tight to the stage, where the side view can be partly blocked by equipment.
- Sections behind the stage: skip them unless the listing says the view is open. On an end-stage setup they are usually closed or obstructed.
Bring earplugs. A rock show at this volume is easier to enjoy for two hours with them in.
How demand for their tickets behaves
Greta Van Fleet draws a mix of younger fans and classic-rock listeners who grew up on the bands they are compared to. That broad base shapes how tickets move:
- Album cycles drive touring. New tours typically follow a record, so a release such as Palace for the People is the usual signal that dates are coming.
- Presales take the first wave. Artist and mailing-list presales generally run before the general on-sale, and the closest floor and lower-level seats go first.
- Michigan and weekend dates run hot. Home-state shows and Friday or Saturday nights in large markets usually draw the most resale interest.
- Floor prices swing the most. General-admission floor tickets tend to be the most volatile as the date approaches, while upper-level seats usually hold steadier.
