Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Who AC/DC is and what kind of show you are buying
AC/DC is the Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by brothers Angus Young (lead guitar) and Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar). The band calls its music simply rock and roll, and in the current era it tours stadiums: the Power Up Tour played stadium-scale shows across Europe, North America and Australia from 2024. A ticket buys a loud, hit-heavy set built around Angus Young's guitar and Brian Johnson's vocals, so the best seats are the ones with a clear look at the stage and the screens.
Bon Scott fronted the band through Highway to Hell (1979). After his death, Brian Johnson joined in 1980, and his first album with the band, Back in Black, has been certified 27 times platinum in the US. AC/DC has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, including 84 million in the US according to the RIAA, and entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
What the live show is like
An AC/DC set leans hard on the 1970s and 1980s catalog: songs from Highway to Hell and Back in Black anchor the night, with a few newer tracks from Power Up. The band changes the set in small ways from city to city; during the Australian shows of the Power Up Tour, for example, "Jailbreak" returned to the set for the first time since 1991.
The focus is Angus Young, whose guitar leads nearly every song and who works the full width of the stage. The touring lineup on Power Up was Brian Johnson, Angus Young and Stevie Young (the Youngs' nephew, who replaced Malcolm in 2014), with Chris Chaney on bass and Matt Laug on drums.
Notable tours, dated
The tours below are documented in the sources for this page.
- Black Ice World Tour (October 2008 to June 2010): 108 cities in more than 28 countries with an estimated audience of about 4.9 million. Its December 2009 shows at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires became the Live at River Plate release.
- Rock or Bust World Tour (2015 to 2016): Brian Johnson left the final dates in 2016 on medical advice about his hearing, and Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses finished the tour as guest vocalist.
- Power Trip (October 7, 2023): a co-headlining festival set in Indio, California, after a hiatus that followed the Rock or Bust tour.
- Power Up Tour (from May 17, 2024): opened in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, with The Pretty Reckless in support. Seven reported 2024 European shows sold 463,218 tickets, an average of about 66,000 per night. A 13-show North American leg ran in April and May 2025, a second European leg followed that summer, and Australian shows were added with Amyl and the Sniffers. The band's site lists the tour's final scheduled date as October 2, 2026, at MetLife Stadium, with Foo Fighters.
Where to sit at an AC/DC stadium show
The advice below assumes an end-stage layout (the stage at one end of the field, with the seats behind it closed or sold as limited view), the standard setup for stadium rock shows. Confirm the layout on the seating map attached to each event before buying.
- Front floor: closest to Angus and the most intense crowd. Stadium floors are flat and usually standing, so the back of the floor relies on the screens.
- Lower-level sideline seats near the stage: the strongest reserved seats. They are close, raised above the floor and angled to follow Angus as he moves across the stage.
- Lower-level seats facing the stage: farther away but square to the full stage and the screens, and usually in line with the best sound near the soundboard.
- Upper level: the value tier. Pick front rows near center over the high corners.
Avoid side-view sections right beside the stage unless the listing describes the view; speaker stacks and screen structures can block much of the stage there. Back rows of a lower level under an overhang can also lose the top of the screens.
How demand for AC/DC tickets behaves
AC/DC tours rarely and sells quickly, and its recent ticketing has been unusually presale-driven.
- Presale registration can replace the public on-sale. For the 2024 European leg, the band skipped a general public on-sale; fans registered for a chance at a presale window instead. Per Pollstar's reporting, about 1.5 million tickets for those dates sold in a single day.
- Long gaps raise the stakes. The band went years between the Rock or Bust tour and the Power Up Tour, and many fans treat each tour as a possible last chance, which pushes early demand.
- Floor tickets go first. Standing floor areas closest to the stage tend to sell out in presales, and much later demand shifts to resale.
- Weekend dates and big markets move fastest. Friday and Saturday shows and major metro stadiums usually sell through first.
Resale prices on the secondary market can sit above or below face value and tend to move as the show approaches. Every order on GoodSeats is backed by a 100% guarantee. For announcements from the band, see AC/DC's official tour page.
