The Rams in four cities and four titles

The Los Angeles Rams play their home games at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, a canopy-covered stadium about three miles from LAX that they share with the Los Angeles Chargers. The regular season runs from September into early January, and the Rams compete in the NFC West with the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

Few franchises have moved as often. The team was founded in Cleveland in 1936 and joined the NFL in 1937. After winning the 1945 championship, it moved to Los Angeles in 1946, then to Anaheim in 1980, to St. Louis in 1995, and back to Los Angeles in 2016. The Rams played four seasons at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum before SoFi Stadium opened in 2020.

The club has won four league championships: 1945 in Cleveland, 1951 in Los Angeles, Super Bowl XXXIV after the 1999 season as the St. Louis Rams (23–16 over the Tennessee Titans), and Super Bowl LVI after the 2021 season, a 23–20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals played in their own building. It also reached Super Bowls XIV and LIII.

SoFi Stadium for a Rams game: levels, sidelines and shade

SoFi Stadium seats 70,240 for football and can expand past 100,000. The field sits 100 feet below street level because of flight-path height limits, and a translucent canopy covers the bowl while the sides stay open to ocean air. That design changes the usual NFL seating calculus: there is no true sun side and no rain-soaked upper deck, so the choice comes down to angle, height and budget.

  • 100 level: the field-level ring closest to the action.
  • 200 level: the club tier, with indoor lounge access.
  • 300 to 500 levels: the upper tiers that hold most of the lower-cost seats.

A double-sided oval video board, the Infinity Screen, hangs over the field, so nearly every seat faces a replay. Seating guides generally place the home bench on the west sideline. Confirm the sideline on the seat map for your specific game before paying a premium to sit behind the Rams.

Choosing seats at a Rams home game

Best overall view

Sideline seats between the 20-yard lines in the 100 level, about row 15 and higher, show the whole field above the players and staff on the sideline. The first few rows put you at eye level with the bench area, which feels close but hides a lot of the play.

Best value

The lower rows of the 300 level along the sidelines are often the smartest purchase. The angle is high enough to read formations and coverage, and the Infinity Screen sits almost at eye level. The 200-level clubs cost more because they bundle lounge access and less crowded concourses.

Seats to think twice about

Low rows behind the end zones flatten the far half of the field, and the top rows of the 500 level are a long walk down and up from street-level entrances. Because the bowl is sunk into the ground, low seats mean more stairs on the way out, which matters for anyone with limited mobility.

Demand: rivals, prime time and visiting fans

The NFL season starts with August preseason games, moves to a 17-game regular season from September to early January (eight or nine home games), and ends with January playoffs. Rams demand has a feature most teams do not share: Los Angeles is full of transplants, so visiting fans often buy a large share of the seats.

  • Division rivals: the 49ers matchup is one of the most heated in the division, and San Francisco fans travel down Interstate 5 in large numbers. Seahawks and Cardinals games carry standings weight late in the year.
  • National-brand opponents: the Cowboys, Packers, Steelers, Bears and Eagles tend to bring big road followings, which tightens supply and can turn the crowd.
  • Prime-time dates: Thursday, Sunday and Monday night games draw more interest than afternoon slots.
  • Playoff games: postseason dates sell through quickly because the window to buy is a few days.

Because SoFi hosts both the Rams and Chargers, the building has twice the usual number of NFL dates, which spreads demand out. Early-season games against small-market opponents are usually the easiest tickets to find, and resale listings for those games tend to soften close to kickoff.

Getting to Inglewood on gameday

Traffic is the biggest planning variable. SoFi Stadium uses color-coded parking zones with digital passes bought ahead of time, and rideshare pickup and drop-off is on Kareem Court between Pincay Drive and Manchester Boulevard. For transit, take the Metro C Line or K Line to the LAX/Metro Transit Center and catch the game-day shuttle. Express buses (GTrans, Torrance Transit and Culver CityBus) and the city's remote Park and Go lots are other options. The stadium's transportation page lists current routes.

Tailgating at SoFi is limited. As of the 2025 season, it was allowed only in a designated zone for select events, with gas or propane grills only, and it had to stop at kickoff. Fans who want a pregame scene often eat in Inglewood or at the Hollywood Park development around the stadium instead.

Bag rules and entry at SoFi Stadium

As of the 2025 season, SoFi Stadium enforces a clear-bag policy (clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches, plus small clutches up to about 4.5 by 6.5 inches). The building is cashless, re-entry is not allowed, and some gates close after the first quarter of NFL games. Check the venue's current policy before you go.

Every GoodSeats order includes guaranteed entry, so a transfer problem at the gate is covered.

Rams history worth knowing

The Rams painted horns on their helmets in 1948, the first helmet emblem in pro football, and the design has been part of the team's identity ever since. The 1960s defensive line known as the Fearsome Foursome became one of the most famous units in league history, and the late-1990s St. Louis offense nicknamed the Greatest Show on Turf carried the franchise to its first Super Bowl title.

The return to Los Angeles reset the team's relationship with the city. The Super Bowl LVI win at SoFi made the Rams one of only a few teams to win a Super Bowl in their home stadium. SoFi Stadium is also scheduled to host Super Bowl LXI in February 2027. Schedules and team news are on the Rams' official site.
