Def Leppard, the band behind the hits
Def Leppard is the English hard rock band from Sheffield, formed in 1976 and still touring major venues on both sides of the Atlantic. Their concerts are greatest-hits arena rock shows built around "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Photograph" and "Hysteria," and in recent years the band has moved between stadium co-headline tours, Las Vegas residencies, arenas and summer fair and festival dates.
The band came up in the new wave of British heavy metal (the late-1970s and early-1980s wave of UK hard rock bands). Producer Mutt Lange shaped their sound on High 'n' Dry (1981), and Pyromania (1983) and Hysteria (1987) were both certified Diamond in the US. Hysteria topped the charts in the UK and US, sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and produced six US Top 20 singles, including the No. 1 "Love Bites." The lineup has been stable since 1992: Joe Elliott, Rick Savage, Rick Allen, Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell. Allen lost his left arm after a car accident on December 31, 1984, and stayed on as the band's drummer. Def Leppard has sold more than 100 million records, entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in October 2025.
What a Def Leppard show delivers
Expect a polished, loud and tightly paced set. The band's trademark is layered vocal harmonies, so the backing vocals are a large part of what you hear, and the lights and video screens are built for big rooms. The core of the set is the run of 1980s singles, with newer material such as songs from Diamond Star Halos (2022) and the 2026 single "Rejoice" mixed in. The band has also experimented with format. Its 2013 Las Vegas residency at the Hard Rock Hotel opened each night with the band playing rarities under the joke name Ded Flatbird before performing Hysteria.
The audience is a mix of fans who bought the records in the 1980s and younger fans who know the songs from classic rock radio. Co-headline tours mean a long night with more than one major band, so check the set times for your date.

Best seats by venue type
Def Leppard's range of venues means there is no single best seat. Match the advice to the room.
- Stadium co-headline shows: the field is usually split into sections in front of an end stage. The front field sections are the closest, but the field is flat, so short fans lose sight lines quickly. Lower-level sideline seats near the stage often give the better overall view of the lights and screens. Upper-deck seats at the far end are distant; buy them for the atmosphere, not the view.
- Arenas: lower-level sections along the sides, angled toward the stage, are the best balance of closeness and elevation. Floor seats behind the first 15 or so rows sit on the same level as everyone in front.
- Las Vegas residencies: The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is a theater-style room much smaller than an arena, so even upper seats are relatively close. Center seats beat extreme sides for the full stage picture.
- Amphitheaters: covered reserved sections give the clearest sound; the lawn is the casual, distant option.
- State fairs: fair shows often use a grandstand facing a stage on the track or infield. Track or infield seats are closest; grandstand seats are raised and reserved. Fair admission may be separate from the concert ticket, so check the fair's own rules.
How their tickets sell
Demand depends heavily on format. Stadium co-headliners sell on the strength of the whole bill and have huge capacity, so prices for upper-level seats can loosen as the date approaches, while front field sections stay in demand. Residencies are the opposite: a small room, a limited run and fans traveling in from out of town for a specific night, which keeps the best seats scarce. State fair and casino dates usually draw a regional crowd and can be some of the more accessible ways to see the band.
Presales through fan clubs, card programs and venue lists often come before the general on-sale. Weekend dates and shows in the band's strongest US markets tend to move first. GoodSeats orders carry no digital transfer fees. Official dates and announcements are posted on the band's tour page.
