Upcoming Utah Mammoth dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
The Mammoth in brief: the NHL's newest market
The Utah Mammoth play home games at Delta Center, 301 West South Temple in downtown Salt Lake City, from October through mid-April, sharing the building with the NBA's Utah Jazz. The team plays in the Central Division of the Western Conference.
The franchise is new, and its origin is unusual. On April 18, 2024, the NHL Board of Governors granted a franchise to Ryan Smith, who acquired the hockey assets of the Arizona Coyotes (the players, coaching staff and draft picks) while the Coyotes franchise was made inactive. The team played its first season, 2024–25, under the placeholder name Utah Hockey Club. After a fan vote, it unveiled the permanent name Utah Mammoth on May 7, 2025.
- Ownership: Ryan and Ashley Smith, through Smith Entertainment Group, which also owns the Jazz.
- First game: a 5–2 win over Chicago on October 8, 2024, with Dylan Guenther scoring the franchise's first goal.
- First playoff run: in 2025–26 the team finished 43–33–6, claimed the West's first wild card and lost a six-game first-round series to Vegas.
- Mascot: Tusky, a woolly mammoth introduced on October 15, 2025, after the Jazz Bear filled in during the first season.
Delta Center for hockey: full-view seats and where to sit
Delta Center opened in 1991 and was designed around a basketball court, which is shorter than a hockey rink. Before the renovation, sources put the number of full-view hockey seats at roughly 10,000 to 12,000 out of about 16,000, and many upper-end seats lost sight of the nearest goal. That makes seat choice here more important than at most NHL arenas.
What the 2025 renovation changed
The first phase of a multi-year rebuild ran from April to September 2025. Crews raised the floor 2 feet, lengthened the bowl 12 feet at each end and installed a custom movable riser system in the lower bowl, adding more than 1,100 new lower-bowl seats. The arena's stated goal was full sightlines from every lower-bowl seat at NHL games. The team reports home attendance by full-view seats only, and the 2025–26 home games were listed at 12,478. Further phases, including terrace-style ledges and sideline gondolas, were planned to follow; check the current seat map, since the layout continues to change.
Center ice and the benches
The lower bowl uses one- and two-digit section numbers, and the upper bowl runs from 101 to 140. TickPick places the player benches in front of sections 6 to 8 and identifies sections 7 and 18 downstairs and 112 and 132 upstairs as the center-ice views. Those sideline sections are the safest buys in the building.
The ends and partial views
RateYourSeats lists section 125, at the end of the upper bowl, as the end the home team shoots at twice, and describes upper seats behind the nets and in the corners as restricted views. TickPick's guide marks upper sections 101 to 107, 117 to 127 and 137 to 140 as partial ice views. Read those notes as the pre-renovation picture for the upper bowl, and look for a partial-view label on any listing before you buy an end or corner seat upstairs.
Schedule shape and the Mammoth dates in demand
Each NHL team plays 82 regular-season games, 41 at home. Preseason games come in late September, the regular season runs from early October to mid-April, and the Stanley Cup playoffs run from April into June. Utah's transit agency lists Mammoth home dates from October through April.
- Colorado: the nearest NHL market and a natural regional rival in the Central Division.
- Vegas: the opponent in the franchise's first playoff series, in 2026.
- Central Division opponents: Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago and other division clubs carry standings weight late in the season.
- Opening night, Saturdays and playoff games: the highest-demand dates.
Because the full-view capacity is small by NHL standards, good sideline seats can be scarce, and most listings here are resale. Prices move with the opponent, the night of the week and the standings. Weeknight games against Eastern Conference teams that visit once a season are typically the easiest to find.
Getting to Delta Center and getting inside
UTA, the Utah Transit Authority, directs event-goers to take the TRAX Green Line or Blue Line to Arena Station, which sits beside the building. Light rail is the simplest way to avoid downtown game-night traffic. A 450-stall parking structure was under construction as part of the renovation, with completion targeted before the 2026–27 season; downtown garages and lots also serve events, and rates vary by the date.
- Arrival: check door times on your ticket; warmups are the best time to stand at the glass.
- Bags and tickets: as of the 2025–26 season, NHL arenas generally use mobile entry and limit bag size. Check Delta Center's current policy before you go.
- Winter weather: January and February storms can slow I-15 and downtown traffic, another reason to use TRAX.

From Arizona to Salt Lake City: a short history
The hockey lineage runs back through the Arizona Coyotes, but the NHL treats Utah as a new franchise, a structure similar to the 1996 arrangement under which the Cleveland Browns name stayed in Cleveland when that team's football operation moved to Baltimore. The Coyotes name, logo and history remain with the inactive Arizona franchise.
The first season brought an immediate identity question, settled by the fan vote that produced the Mammoth name, logo and jerseys in 2025. The same offseason began the Delta Center rebuild. In 2025–26 the team became the first in NHL history to play a full 82-game season without a shootout since the tiebreaker was adopted in 2005, then reached the playoffs for the first time and hosted its first postseason game on April 24, 2026. The team also announced a practice facility in nearby Sandy, Utah, which broke ground in August 2024.
