Touring (arenas and stadiums)

What live pro wrestling covers

Professional wrestling is scripted athletic theater: the outcomes are planned, the athleticism is real, and the live crowd is part of the show. In the United States, two promotions sell most of the tickets. WWE, the larger and older company, runs weekly television and a calendar of major events, and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is the main national alternative. Both tour arenas year-round, and both stage their biggest nights in stadiums.

For a ticket buyer, the useful split is by show type: a weekly television taping, a major premium event (the industry's name for what used to be called pay-per-views), or a smaller non-televised house show. The type decides how long the night runs, how big the production is and how much the matches matter.

WWE, AEW and the calendar

WWE

WWE traces its roots to 1953 and is now part of TKO Group Holdings, alongside the UFC. Its weekly shows are Raw on Monday nights, streaming on Netflix since January 2025, and SmackDown on Friday nights. Its premium live events include the Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series, and its biggest show of the year, WrestleMania, is a two-night stadium event each spring. The WWE page covers the weekly shows and arena seating in more depth, and the WrestleMania page covers the flagship event.

AEW

AEW was founded on January 1, 2019, by Tony Khan and is based in Jacksonville, Florida. Its flagship weekly show, Dynamite, airs live on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. Eastern on TBS and HBO Max, with Collision on TNT. Its major events include Double or Nothing, All Out, Full Gear, Revolution, Forbidden Door (co-produced with New Japan Pro-Wrestling) and Worlds End. Its largest show, All In, drew 72,265 paid fans to Wembley Stadium in London in 2023 and moved to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on July 12, 2025.

Venues: arenas every week, stadiums for the biggest nights

Most wrestling events play NBA and NHL arenas and mid-size civic arenas. Madison Square Garden in New York City is often called WWE's home arena: it hosted the first WrestleMania in 1985, along with WrestleMania X and WrestleMania XX, and has staged the Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. Stadium shows are reserved for the biggest events, and they are getting bigger. WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas drew more than 118,000 attendees over two days in 2025, according to TKO's annual report, and Allegiant Stadium hosted WrestleMania again in 2026.

WWE and the UFC, together with PBR bull riding, held over 500 live events worldwide in 2025, per the TKO Group 2025 Form 10-K. That volume means a wrestling show likely comes through most large metro areas at least once a year.

Where to sit around the ring and stage

A wrestling setup looks like a center-stage concert with one end taken over. The ring sits on the floor near center, and an entrance stage with a ramp and video screens fills one end of the building. That layout drives every seat decision.

  • The hard-camera side: the main TV camera sits at about center on one sideline, and matches are staged to face it. Lower-bowl seats on that side, a few rows up, give the best overall view of the ring and a clear side view of the entrance.
  • The opposite side: you see more of the wrestlers' backs during key moments, but you are the crowd that appears behind the ring on television.
  • Ringside floor rows: the first few rows feel the action and see wrestlers spill over the barricade. By the middle of the flat floor, standing fans and the ring posts block a lot.
  • Beside the entrance stage: close-up entrances, pyro and video, but a long, angled look at the ring.
  • Behind the stage: usually closed or sold as limited view. Skip these unless the listing makes the view clear.

The upper level along either sideline is the value pick: the ring is small, but you see the whole production. Stadium events stretch every distance, so the video boards do much more of the work there.

How wrestling tickets sell

  • Premium events outsell TV. Major events carry the biggest matches, and they draw more travel and stronger demand than weekly shows.
  • The card matters late. Matches are often announced only in the final weeks, and a title match or a returning star can lift demand for a specific night.
  • Stadium shows sell in stages. WrestleMania offers two-night combination tickets first and single-night tickets later, which shapes when single-night listings appear.
  • Weekly tapings can soften. Ordinary episodes without announced matches often have more inventory close to the date.
  • Ringside is fixed. There are only a few ringside rows per show, and they move first.

GoodSeats orders carry no digital transfer fees, which helps when nearly every arena now uses mobile tickets.

First-timer tips for a wrestling show

  • Expect more than the broadcast. TV tapings often include dark matches (non-televised bouts) before or after the live window.
  • Bring a sign, within the rules. Signs are part of wrestling culture, but venues limit size and content. Check the event's posted rules.
  • Check the venue's current bag policy before you go, as arena and stadium rules differ and change.
  • Bring the family with a plan. Wrestling draws many families, but the content and late finishes vary by show, so check the start time and expected length.

Wrestling and UFC and MMA share an owner in TKO, and many arenas host both. For the year's biggest wrestling events, start with WrestleMania and the WWE events listing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between WWE and AEW?

WWE is the larger, older promotion, owned by TKO Group Holdings, with Raw on Mondays and SmackDown on Fridays. AEW, founded in 2019 and based in Jacksonville, Florida, airs Dynamite on Wednesday nights and runs its own major events such as All In and Double or Nothing.

Where are the best seats at a wrestling event?

Lower-bowl seats on the hard-camera side, a few rows up, give the best overall view. Ringside floor rows are closest, but the middle and rear floor can be blocked by standing fans, and seats behind the entrance stage are often limited view.

How long does a live wrestling show last?

A weekly TV taping usually runs a little past its two- or three-hour broadcast window because of dark matches. Premium events and stadium shows run longer.

Which wrestling events draw the biggest crowds?

WrestleMania is the largest; WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas drew more than 118,000 attendees over two days in 2025. AEW's All In drew 72,265 paid fans to Wembley Stadium in 2023.

Is pro wrestling suitable for kids?

Many families attend, and WWE and AEW shows draw a broad age range. Late finishes and occasional mature content vary by event, so check the show details first.
