Upcoming San Francisco Giants dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

The Giants in brief: two coasts, eight championships

The San Francisco Giants play home games at Oracle Park on the city's waterfront in the South Beach neighborhood, from late March or early April through late September. The franchise was founded in 1883 as the New York Gothams and moved to San Francisco in 1958. It has played in the NL West since 1969.

The Giants have won eight World Series: five in New York (1905, 1921, 1922, 1933 and 1954) and three in San Francisco (2010, 2012 and 2014). The franchise has won 23 National League pennants and nine NL West titles.

  • The rivalry: the Los Angeles Dodgers, a rivalry Wikipedia calls one of the longest-running rivalries in American sports.
  • San Francisco greats: Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Juan Marichal, Orlando Cepeda and Barry Bonds.
  • Retired numbers include: 24 (Mays), 44 (McCovey), 25 (Bonds), 27 (Marichal), 30 (Cepeda), 36 (Gaylord Perry), 22 (Will Clark) and 21 (Jeff Kent), alongside New York-era honorees.
  • Earlier San Francisco homes: Seals Stadium (1958 to 1959) and Candlestick Park (1960 to 1999).

Where to sit at Oracle Park for a Giants game

Oracle Park seats 41,331, according to Wikipedia. The seating is stacked in levels: the Field Club seats closest to the field, the Promenade Level (the main concourse and the 100 sections), the Club Level (the 200 sections), a suite level and the View Level (the 300 sections) on top.

The dugouts and the infield

Ballparks of Baseball places the Giants dugout on the third base side; check the seating map on your listing. Lower box seats between the dugouts are the premium choice. Club Level seats behind the plate add an indoor concourse, which is worth a lot on a cold night.

Views and value

  • The View Level: the name is accurate. Seats on the upper deck look out over San Francisco Bay, and they are usually the best value in the park.
  • The Arcade: several rows of seats above the brick archways of the right field wall, right over McCovey Cove. They are close to the field and full of character, but the angle to home plate is sharp and the right field line is only 309 feet away.
  • The bleachers: beyond the left field fence, with a view of the city skyline, near the giant Coca-Cola bottle and baseball glove in the Fan Lot.

Seats to think twice about

Right-center field, known as Triples Alley, reaches 415 feet, so outfield seats out there sit a long way from the infield. For any seat down the lines, preview the view on the team's 3D seating map before you buy.

Wind, fog and staying warm at Oracle Park

Engineers designed Oracle Park to cut the wind to roughly half of what Candlestick Park endured, but its spot on the bay still brings cold fog and chilly summer nights, according to Wikipedia. A sunny afternoon can turn into a cold evening by the middle innings.

  • Dress in layers: a jacket and hat are wise for night games even in July and August.
  • Day games: the most comfortable choice for families and visitors who did not pack for San Francisco weather.
  • Club Level seats: come with an indoor concourse where you can warm up between innings.
  • Sunscreen: bring it in a plastic bottle; aerosol cans are not allowed in the ballpark.

The schedule and the Giants games that sell first

Each MLB team plays 162 regular-season games, 81 at home. Spring training runs in February and March. The regular season runs from late March or early April through late September, with the All-Star break in mid-July. Under MLB's balanced schedule, adopted in 2023, San Francisco plays each NL West rival 13 times.

  • The Dodgers: the hardest regular-season ticket at Oracle Park.
  • Opening Day: one of the most sought-after dates of the year.
  • Bay Area visitors and summer weekends: Friday and Saturday games from June through August, when tourist demand is highest.
  • Promotions: giveaway nights and heritage nights listed on the Giants promotions calendar draw extra demand.

Demand at Oracle Park can run high: the ballpark recorded 530 consecutive sellouts from October 1, 2010, to July 18, 2017, the second-longest streak in MLB history. The Giants' official site also lists Oracle Park as the host of the 2028 MLB All-Star Game. Weeknight games in April, May and September are usually the easiest tickets.

Muni, Caltrain, ferries and parking

Oracle Park sits at 24 Willie Mays Plaza, and it is one of the easiest ballparks in the country to reach without a car.

  • Muni Metro: 2nd and King station is directly outside the ballpark.
  • Caltrain: the 4th and King station is about a block and a half away, with service from the Peninsula and South Bay.
  • BART: ride to Embarcadero station and transfer to Muni Metro.
  • Ferries: a ferry landing sits at the Marina Gate behind center field.
  • Parking: lots fill on game days; the Giants allow informal tailgating around your vehicle in Lots A and C, but not at Pier 48, Pier 30/32 or One Bryant, as of the 2026 season.

Lot A is being redeveloped as part of the Mission Rock neighborhood, with game day parking moving into a structured garage, so check the Giants transportation page for current lots.

Bag rules at Oracle Park

  • Backpacks: prohibited, including clear backpacks, except diaper bags, medical bags and bags for guests with accessible needs.

Giants history and Oracle Park milestones

Oracle Park opened on March 31, 2000, as Pacific Bell Park, then became SBC Park and later AT&T Park before taking the Oracle name in 2019. It was the first MLB ballpark built without public funds since Dodger Stadium in 1962.

  • 1954: the last New York title, four years before the move west.
  • 2007: the ballpark hosted the All-Star Game, where Ichiro Suzuki hit the first inside-the-park home run in All-Star history off the right field archways.
  • 2010, 2012 and 2014: three World Series titles in five seasons, the first championships in San Francisco.
  • Splash hits: as of August 2026, Giants players had hit 110 home runs into McCovey Cove on the fly, 35 of them by Barry Bonds.
  • The right field wall: 24 feet high, for Willie Mays's number.
