Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

The Angels in brief: an expansion club with a 2002 crown

The Los Angeles Angels play their home games at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, and the regular season runs from late March through September. Gene Autry founded the club in 1961 as one of Major League Baseball's first two expansion teams, and it has played in the American League ever since, in the AL West division (the five-team group that also includes Houston, Seattle, Texas and the Athletics) since 1969.

The franchise has worn several names: Los Angeles Angels (1961–1965), California Angels (1965–1996), Anaheim Angels (1997–2004), Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (2005–2015) and, since 2016, Los Angeles Angels again. The club won its only World Series in 2002, beating the San Francisco Giants, and has nine AL West titles, the most recent in 2014.

  • Identity: the halo logo, the Rally Monkey (a scoreboard mascot born in 2000 that appears during close late innings) and the 230-foot letter A in the parking lot, which lights up after home wins.
  • Rival: the Los Angeles Dodgers, in the Freeway Series.
  • Hall of Famers: Nolan Ryan, Rod Carew and Vladimir Guerrero, who was inducted wearing an Angels cap.

Angel Stadium for a ballgame: levels and section numbers

Angel Stadium opened on April 19, 1966, at 2000 Gene Autry Way. It seats about 45,500 (Wikipedia lists 45,517). The city of Anaheim owns it. Seating guides group the seats this way:

  • Field Level (100s): the lower bowl, roughly sections 101 to 135, from the left-field corner around home plate to the right-field corner.
  • Terrace Level (200s): the second ring, with the outfield Pavilion sections in the 230s through 250s.
  • Club Level (300s): the premium tier with indoor club access.
  • View Level (400s and 500s): the upper deck and the lowest-priced infield seats.

Behind the left-center wall sits the California Spectrum, an artificial rock outcropping with geysers and a cascading stream added in the 1996–98 renovation that turned the park back into a baseball-only venue after its years as home of the NFL Rams. Field Level sections typically carry rows A through Z; check your section on the seat map before you buy, because row counts vary around the bowl.

Where to sit at an Angels game

Dugouts

Seating guides place the Angels dugout on the third-base side, in front of sections 110 to 112, with the visitors on the first-base side. Fans who want to watch the home team come and go should look at the third-base Field Level sections between the dugout and home plate.

Sun and shade

Southern California day games are hot and bright, and the Field Level is uncovered. Three practical rules:

  • The Terrace Level (200s) sits under the Club Level overhang, so most of it is shaded. It is the most reliable shade in the building.
  • The third-base side of the upper deck, sections 511 to 526, is generally shaded from about row L and higher at day games.
  • Field Level seats closer to home plate fall into shade earlier than seats down the lines.

For a typical evening start, sun matters only for the first few innings. For a Sunday matinee, pay for the 200 level.

Best overall and best value

Infield Terrace seats between the bases are the strongest all-around choice: high enough to read the defense, close enough to see pitch movement, and shaded. The infield 400 and 500 sections cost less and still give a clean view of the whole field. The first ten rows of the outfield Field Level are the best bet for a home run ball.

Seats to reconsider

Field Level seats in the far corners near the foul poles face center field, so you spend nine innings turned toward the plate, and in an afternoon game they bake. High rows of the outfield Pavilion are a long way from the infield.

The schedule and which games sell

The Angels play 81 home games. Spring training runs in February and March at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Arizona, part of the Cactus League. The regular season starts in late March and ends in late September, and the postseason follows in October for teams that qualify.

Demand on the resale market rises and falls with a few predictable drivers:

  • The Freeway Series against the Dodgers. The two clubs first met in a regular-season game in 1997, when interleague play began, and play four or six times a year, split between the two parks. Dodger fans fill a large share of Angel Stadium for these dates, which pushes prices up.
  • Opening Day, Friday and Saturday nights, and fireworks or giveaway nights.
  • Marquee visitors and AL West rivals late in a pennant race.

Midweek games in April, May and September usually offer the widest choice of seats. Prices on resale listings move with the standings and with pitching matchups, so expect weekend and rivalry listings to tighten as the date approaches.

Getting to the Big A: rail, parking and rideshare

Angel Stadium sits beside the junction of the I-5 and State Route 57, a few minutes from the Disneyland resort area. Your options:

  • Train: the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), at 2626 East Katella Avenue, is served by Metrolink's Orange County Line and Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner. It sits across the SR-57 from the stadium's northeast lot gate, an easy walk. Check Metrolink's schedule for game-night return trains before you rely on one.
  • Parking: stadium lots open 2.5 hours before the gates, with entrances on Douglass Road, State College Boulevard and Orangewood Avenue. As of the 2026 season, parking is cashless, general and preferred tiers are sold, and buying online costs slightly more than paying at the lot. Several nearby office parks sell cheaper parking on game days.
  • Rideshare: postgame pickup is in the lot near Gate 1, marked by red light poles.

Rates and lot rules change; see the team's Angel Stadium ballpark guide for the current details.

Bags, gates and food rules, as of 2026

As of the 2026 season, Angel Stadium allows a clear plastic or vinyl bag up to 12.75 by 6.5 by 12.75 inches with no hidden pockets, or a purse or bag of about 12 by 12 inches with a single zipper. Medically necessary items and diaper bags accompanying an infant are allowed after inspection.

  • Gates: open 90 minutes before first pitch, except 1 p.m. starts, when they open 60 minutes before.
  • Outside food: allowed in a clear plastic bag of up to one gallon, in individual portions, with factory-sealed water bottles of up to one liter.
  • Cashless: concessions are card-only; reverse ATMs that convert cash to a prepaid card are at the advance ticket windows and near sections 133, 237 and 418.
  • No re-entry.

Angels history: from Wrigley Field to the Rally Monkey

The Angels played their first season, 1961, at the old Wrigley Field in Los Angeles, then spent 1962 to 1965 as tenants at Dodger Stadium before moving to Anaheim in 1966. The Big A sign began life as the stadium's scoreboard support, and the park was enclosed in 1979–80 to add about 23,000 seats for the Rams and the 1996–98 renovation restored it as a baseball-only park.

  • 1979: the first AL West title, followed by others in 1982 and 1986.
  • 2002: the World Series title over the Giants, two years after the Rally Monkey first appeared.
  • 2004 to 2009: five division titles in six seasons.
  • 2018 to 2023: Shohei Ohtani's two-way seasons in Anaheim, which drew international attention to the club.

Angel Stadium has hosted three All-Star Games (1967, 1989 and 2010). In February 2025 the Angels extended their lease at the stadium through 2032, after a 2019 agreement to sell the stadium land was canceled.
